President and Chief Executive Officer

Joe Natale joined Rogers as President and Chief Executive Officer on April 19, 2017.

Prior to joining Rogers, Joe was President and CEO at TELUS Corporation. He first joined Telus in 2003, holding a number of senior positions including President of Enterprise Solutions, President of Consumer Solutions and Chief Commercial Officer. Prior to 2003, Joe held successive senior leadership roles within KPMG Consulting, which he joined after it acquired the company he co-founded, PNO Management Consultants Inc., in 1997.

He currently sits on the Board of Directors at The Hospital for Sick Children and Soulpepper Theatre Co. He is a past recipient of Canada’s Top 40 under 40 Award.

A passionate, customer-first executive, Joe has a proven track record of delivering strong financial and operating results in a highly competitive and dynamic environment.

Joe holds a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo. He lives in Toronto with his wife and children.

Interim President, Consumer

As interim President of the Consumer Business Unit, Phil Hartling is responsible for the company’s Consumer wireless and residential business, including strategy, product development, marketing customer experience, sales channels and customer care operations, pricing and customer base management.

As a seasoned telecom executive, Phil brings 25 years of deep industry experience in both cable and wireless across a variety of functions, including marketing sales, customer service, provisioning, credit ops and corporate affairs.

Phil has been with Rogers for more than 12 years in various leadership roles in both operational and strategic functions. He has a strong track record of delivering profitable growth in the business, instilling operational discipline, and building high performing teams. Most recently, Phil led the Commercial Strategy division as Senior Vice President, accountable for driving success in value management, pricing, and customer investment covering all Rogers, Fido and chatr products.

Phil holds a Commerce degree and a Masters of Public Administration from Dalhousie University. Phil and his partner, Kathy live in Schomberg with their many dogs and horses.

President, Enterprise

Dean Prevost joined Rogers as President of the Enterprise business in September, 2017. He is responsible for delivering Wireless, Wireline and Data Centre products and solutions to small, medium, large and public sector businesses across Canada. 

An industry veteran, Dean spent 17 years at AT&T/MTS Allstream in nearly every senior executive position, including five years as President. While he was President of the Enterprise Solutions Division, Dean rebuilt the customer experience journey and focused on a long-term growth strategy for the company. Dean is a well-respected executive with deep experience in technology and telecom, and a proven track record of delivering operating results in Enterprise.

Dean came to Rogers from a Birch Hill private equity company, Hi-Pro Feeds, where he was CEO for three years, and left after the successful sale to an industry player. Prior to telecom, he worked with a variety of companies driving growth and expansion as a strategy consultant with Monitor Company.  

Dean volunteers his time on the board for JUMP Math, a charitable organization that helps children love and succeed at math, and previously YMCA of Greater Toronto. He holds a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard and a Bachelor of Commerce with distinction, from the University of Calgary.  Dean and his family currently live in Calgary and plan to relocate to Toronto over time.

President, Media

As President of Media at Rogers, Rick Brace is responsible for driving strategy and overseeing operations for the company’s robust portfolio of media assets.

Rick is an accomplished business leader and innovative pioneer with more than 40 years of experience in the media industry. He has a strong reputation for building brands, changing perceptions, and attracting and mentoring top talent.

Prior to joining Rogers, Rick was with Bell Media/CTVglobemedia for 13 years in senior leadership roles of increasing responsibility, including President of CTV and President of Specialty TV. Rick also played a founding role at TSN, joining the network in 1984 as Deputy Head of Sports and eventually becoming President of the network in 1998 through 2000.

He began his career in 1975 at the CBC, working as a technician followed by roles in TV production. He stayed with the public network until 1984.

Rick resides in Toronto with his family and devotes time to numerous charitable organizations, including his role as Chair of the Advisory Council for the Rick Hansen Foundation and as a Trustee of the Canadian Wildlife Foundation. Rick also serves on the President’s Council of Ryerson University, his alma mater.

Chief Financial Officer

As Chief Financial Officer, Tony is responsible for the overall finance function of Rogers. He also oversees corporate strategy and financial services.

Since joining the company in April 2012, Tony has focused on driving share value growth and, in particular, the operational execution of the company from a financial perspective. He has implemented new financial and operational performance management systems, and embarked on a multi-year cost productivity program delivering consistent efficiency improvements. He has also led various corporate finance initiatives, including acquisitions and the improvement of the company’s balance sheet structure with new and innovative financing arrangements.

Tony is a highly regarded and seasoned executive bringing to the company expertise in all financial functions combined with operational management experience. Tony began his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers and left the firm as a senior Partner in 1998 to join his client Celestica International, where he performed in various financial and operational roles as the company grew from a single plant to one of the world’s largest electronics manufacturers. He left Celestica in 2005 to join Bell Canada Enterprises where as Senior Vice President Finance he continued to focus on the operational finance aspects of the company.

Tony serves as a Board Director for Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, and is on the Board of Governors for Ryerson University. He is also Chair of Ryerson’s Finance Committee, and a member of the Mackenzie Health Foundation’s Campaign Cabinet. He is a Fellow Chartered Accountant and Fellow Chartered Professional Accountant, and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the Schulich School of Business.

Interim Chief Technology Officer

As Interim Chief Technology Officer for Rogers, Jim is responsible for the planning, design, engineering, implementation and operations of the Rogers wireless and wireline networks.

Jim is also SVP, End-To-End Voice & Data Services. In this role, Jim leads the team responsible for the engineering and operation of the Rogers Core Network that provides voice, data, and messaging services to over 10 million Canadians.

Jim joined Rogers over 30 years ago, and since then has held a number of senior positions within the Network group including responsibility for wireless network, core network and service platforms.

Jim holds an Honours BA from the University of Toronto. He is also Chairman of the Board of Career Edge, a national not- for-profit organization that assists new Canadians, graduates, and youth launch their careers through paid internships with leading Canadian businesses.

Chief Digital Officer

Lisa Durocher joined Rogers as Senior Vice President of Digital on August 29, 2016, and was appointed Chief Digital Officer on June 20, 2017. She is responsible for the company’s digital strategy, design, planning and development for all digital platforms across consumer and enterprise.

Lisa comes from American Express in New York City where she held several senior leadership positions, most recently SVP of Charge and Benefits. Under Lisa’s leadership, American Express redesigned its digital membership rewards program and customer experience, which included establishing innovative payments arrangements with companies like Amazon and Uber. She previously worked at Procter and Gamble, and technology consulting practices.

A digital thought leader, Lisa brings more than 25 years of experience and a strong track record in scaling product and channel operations, and building high performing teams.

Originally from Sarnia, Ont., Lisa is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University’s Business Administration program.

Chief Legal & Corporate Affairs Officer, Secretary

David Miller oversees all facets of corporate affairs at Rogers including legal, regulatory, government relations, public policy, communications and corporate social responsibility. He also oversees the Office of the Ombudsman.

A strategic advisor with extensive experience in telecommunications and media, David is known for his expertise in mergers, acquisitions and commercial agreements. He has played a key strategic role in many important acquisitions.

David joined Rogers in 1987 as the company’s first-ever Vice President and General Counsel. Prior to joining Rogers, he spent two years in private practice and served as General Counsel for Lavalin Inc., one of the world’s largest international engineering and construction companies.

David holds a Bachelor of Commerce and both Civil and Common Law degrees from McGill University. He was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 1978. In 2009, David received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Canadian General Counsel Association. He sits on the Board of Directors of CI Financial Corp. and the Advisory Board of Atlantic Packaging Limited.

Chief Human Resources Officer

Jim Reid has served as Rogers Chief Human Resources Officer since 2011. He is responsible for shaping the talent, culture and engagement strategy at Rogers.

With a keen understanding of what it takes to win, Jim has elevated the employee experience agenda by strengthening key programs in the areas of leadership development, frontline training, talent management, and culture. Over the next three years, Jim will lead Rogers’ workplace transformation initiative, enabling the company to become more collaborative, agile and flexible.

During his tenure, Rogers has been recognized as one of the Top 100 Employers in Canada, a Top Employer for Young People, and one of Canada’s Best Diversity Employers.

Jim has more than 20 years of experience leading large, global human resources teams, including Husky Injection Molding Systems and the global health sciences company, MDS Inc. He is a former tactical helicopter pilot in the Canadian Armed Forces and served more than three years in West Germany. Jim holds an MBA from McMaster University and is a graduate of Harvard’s Advanced Management Program.

Chief Information Officer

As Chief Information Officer, John leads a team of IT professionals who are accountable for operational IT plans across the business, and play a critical role in the delivery of the company’s customer experience and growth agenda.

John Hill joined Rogers in 2016. He brings more than 27 years of experience to Rogers from telecom, IT consulting and energy sectors. Prior to joining Rogers, John was the Chief Information Security Officer at Enbridge Pipelines, where he led the development and delivery of a multi-year information security strategic plan for the company. John was also CIO at SaskTel and Vice President at Capgemini Consulting. He is passionate about innovation, vision and industry trends and has led numerous high-performing, cross-functional teams to drive enterprise technology strategy, innovation and business transformation.

Originally from Saskatchewan, John is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan’s Electrical Engineering program, and is currently a member of the Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA). John currently resides in Toronto with his wife, and his two children are completing their undergraduate studies in Calgary.
